September 29 Council Work Session
On September 29, Adam Lyons will be presenting on the history, current status and future vision of the Office of Community and Civic Life for 10-12 minutes, then opening into a 90-minute Council discussion. He is requesting information and feedback from the Neighborhoods in preparation for this Council Work Session. Good questions to take to your Neighborhood Association meetings are: 1) What support the Neighborhood Associations like to see from the Office of Community & Civic Life to strengthen the partnership between the City and Neighborhoods for effective civic engagement of all residents? 2) What would be some helpful questions that Councilors can ask in the Discussion Session that Adam can be prepared to answer? If we can consolidate this feedback/information to give to Adam, I’m sure he’d appreciate it. If you are interested in joining a working group to help prepare for this work session, please let me know and I’ll start coordinating a day/time for meetings.
Candidate Forums
It sounds like we’ll have 3 groups of District 4 NAs hosting candidate forums: NW/Central, SW and SE. It sounds like NW/Central has a date set for October 5 with moderator Allan Claussen. The other two groups are solidifying dates and details. D4C is also an outreach partner for City Club’s forum which will be held on either October 13th or 11th, and 360PDX’s forum on October 5. If you’d like to be involved in helping to plan with one of these groups, let me know.

Attached are asbestos information forms in English, Spanish, Russian, Chinese and Vietnamese relating to the Centennial Mills Fire cleanup efforts. We’ve been asked by the City to help spread the word on this. Please forward to your communications folks.
