Request for Contact Info Update
I met with Adam Lyons this morning, and he said he was able to update the District 4 Neighborhood Association information with the information we provided him from Carl’s completed audit. Please take a minute to check your neighborhood association’s contact information on the Portland website to make sure it’s correct. If not, please reply to this email with the correct information. I’ll consolidate the changes and send to Adam at the end of the week. https://www.portland.gov/neighborhoods
Candidate Forums
If your NA is planning a candidate forum, please email either myself or Heather with the date/time/location/primary contact info so we can get that on the D4C Calendar and start planning outreach amplification efforts.
Office Hours Survey
We are evaluating our office hours and services to better meet the needs of our stakeholders. Your feedback will help us determine the most convenient office access options, staffing availability, and services to offer. https://forms.gle/3gd5TJjEwEzGLABUA
Southbound I-5 Closed 24/7 for 5-weeks starting in September
ODOT gave a presentation to D4C last week on Thursday explaining the details of the I-5 closure – impacting the main arteries into and out of District 4. If you have not yet already discussed this in your NA meetings, I’d highly recommend giving it a minute and sharing the information to your newsletter/social media folks. Here’s the project website (https://www.i5rosequarter.org/) and video recording of their presentation last week (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D_XeKp4auXo). During this period of time (because Heather’s commute is greatly effected and also I will be on vacation mid-to-late-September), D4C’s office will be open by appointment only. To schedule an appointment, please
Funding Opportunity
The new funding cycle for the Metro Central Enhancement Grants is now open until September 14. Funds cover a wide range of community projects. Go to oregonmetro.gov/metrocentralgrants to learn more and see if your project is a good fit. (SW and SE neighborhoods not eligible for these funds). If you have questions or want to be added to their email list, contact Noelle Dobson, Noelle.Dobson@oregonmetro.gov.
Creating Spaces for Connection
Kent sent me an article this morning based on a few comments from Board members last night that seems to be on point. I’ve attached that article for reference. I found it inspiring and helpful. https://creatingthefuture.org/e-journals/2026-2/creating-spaces-for-connection/
