| The Portland Bureau of Transportation (PBOT) will be holding a walking meeting for the Pedestrian Advisory Committee on Tuesday, August 19 from 6-7:30 p.m. The group will convene at the SW corner of Pioneer Courthouse Square (SW Yamhill & Broadway). Members of the public are welcome to attend. Walking meeting agenda A PDF version of the agenda can be found on the August meeting webpage. 6:00-6:15 – Welcome & Introductions (15 min) Meeting point: The SW corner of Pioneer Courthouse Square (701 SW 6th Ave, Portland, OR 97204) at 6 p.m. The meeting point is easily accessible with public transportation. Hot topics Walk Portland & the Downtown Walking Route (Gena Gastaldi) 6:15-7:30 – Walking Tour (approx. 75 min) Downtown Walking Route: Once the group has convened at Pioneer Courthouse Square (SW corner at Yamhill & Broadway), we will walk the north/west portion of the Downtown Route, a pedestrian wayfinding pilot project. The group will walk west on SW Yamhill Street to SW 10th Ave, then proceed north on SW 10th to NW Couch Street. We will head east on NW Couch before turning south at NW 12th Ave. The group will proceed to SW 12th Ave and turn east onto SW Harvey Milk Street. From Harvey Milk we will return to SW 10th Ave which we will follow to SW Morrison Street and then end the walk back at Pioneer Square. The entire loop is about 1 mile. The route will allow participants to see all of the different interventions for the pilot, including both directional (small) and orientation (large) signs, nudge signs, sidewalk decals, and vinyl storefront window coverings.
