NWDA’s Letter re Design Review Suspension Project
If you have or planning to have discussions with your NAs about the Design Review Suspension Project, the NWDA is planning to submit a letter to the City in response. Contact Todd (todd@nwdaportland.org) for more information & collective advocacy opportunities. On this note, please start thinking of how your NA would like to see this sort of communication facilitated at the D4C level. An idea brought up so far is a weekly digest of NA letters that can be shared amongst the group. The topic of collective advocacy infrastructure will be on the agenda for discussion in October or November and will inform the hired work for systems improvement at the D4C this winter.
New D4C Legal Representation
Stephanie Dolan is restructuring her law practice away from the neighborhoods and district coalitions. We salute her service to the program over the years. Thank you, Stephanie! As a result, D4C has engaged with the Center of Nonprofit Law for legal representation going forward.
Karli’s Vacation Reminder
As a reminder, I will be on vacation from September 14-28 and will not be checking emails or phone calls while I’m away (with the exception of processing payroll on September 14). As such, I will not be sending a D4C ED Update until September 29.
Because the I-5 shutdown is likely to cause a 3+ hour daily commute for Heather, I’d like to ensure she has the flexibility to work from home during this time. If you need to come into the office for copies, collect mail, etc., please give her a heads-up so she can plan accordingly to accommodate you. My commute is a 15-minute bike-ride, so office hours will resume to normal when I return. D4C Office Hours survey (https://forms.gle/
