SE César E Chávez Boulevard Safety Project(Lafayette Court to Schiller Street)

The Portland Bureau of Transportation (PBOT) is seeking community feedback on traffic safety improvements for SE César E Chávez Boulevard between Lafayette Court and Schiller Street.
This area has had a painful history of traffic crashes. PBOT is focused on safety and preventing more crashes. Recommendations include:
• Upgrade traffic signals to add left-turn signals for people turning onto Chávez Boulevard from Holgate Boulevard.
• Reduce driving lanes from four vehicle lanes to two (one in each direction) with added left-turn pockets at key locations.
• New on-street parking along the curb.
• Set up the roadway for future crossing improvements.
