| PPF’s mission as a city-wide parks nonprofit is to mobilize support for Portland’s parks, natural areas and public spaces. Simply put – we help people help parks. One of the ways we do this is by expanding organizational capacity and fostering collaborations and community leadership through our awards, grants programs, and gatherings like our spring summits. In many ways, these programs are the backbone to our work and inform the rest of what we do. Check out our current and upcoming programs! Supporting Emerging Park Leaders: The Joey Pope Award for Parks Leadership celebrates emerging leaders innovating in parks programming and nature stewardship. Nominate an individual, organization, or emerging initiative (even your own!). All nominees are celebrated at our Friends & Allies Spring Summit (May 14!) and two honorees will receive a $10,000 grant to support work their work. Nominations close March 15. Learn more and nominate a leader today. Celebrating Volunteers: It’s that time of year again to nominate your organization’s star volunteer for the PGE Parks Champion Awards. Nominate your favorite champion, volunteer coach, crew leader, or local nature steward for a 2026 PGE Parks Champion Award. All nominees are celebrated at our Friends & Allies Spring Summit (May 14!), and two will be given $1,500 to grant to the parks organization of their choice. Nominations close February 28. Learn more and nominate your all-star volunteer by February 28. Spring Small Grants: PPF Small Grant applications are open March 1 – April 15. These $2,000 grants support general operations for parks and nature organizations or special programs and projects activating our parks, nature and community spaces. Pencil it into your calendar and learn more here. Join our Small Grants Committee: We are looking for a few new members to join our small grants review committee. Get an inside look at our grant program, evaluate grant applications with other community members, and make new organization connections. Apply by March 6! |
