Kate Ashley was born and raised in Minnesota. In 2003 she escaped the frozen tundra and moved to the West Coast. In California she earned a degree in Small Business Management and Administration, while working in the accounting department of a motorcycle dealership. She originally started as the receptionist, and trained with her supervisor who was also a CPA. She really enjoyed accounting work, and started to build a business offering bookkeeping services to small businesses in Paso Robles and San Luis Obispo, CA. She has been in the bookkeeping and consulting industry ever since, and still enjoys it very much.

In 2013 she relocated to Portland, OR and rebuilt a new clientele, offering her services to restaurants, e-commerce companies, wineries, apothecaries and more. She truly became passionate about helping women owned small businesses have financial visibility and clarity. Now she is excited to be working in the non-profit world. She is inspired by all the caring people and organizations making such a positive impact in this city.

In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, reading, traveling, and spending time with friends. She is grateful to call Portland “home” for over 10 years now.
